Day 1: Arrival & Introduction to the Amazon

Morning:

Arrival in Manaus: Arrive at Manaus International Airport, where our team will welcome you and provide a comfortable transfer to our jungle lodge – your base for the next 5 days.

Welcome and Orientation: After arriving at the lodge, receive a warm welcome and take part in an informative session detailing the exciting journey ahead, along with essential safety guidelines.

Afternoon:

Exploring the Lodge Surroundings: Begin your Amazon adventure with a guided walk around the lodge. Familiarize yourself with the local flora and fauna and enjoy your first glimpse of the rainforest’s biodiversity.

Evening:

Caiman Spotting Tour: At dusk, embark on an exciting nighttime boat ride to spot caimans in their natural habitat. Learn about these intriguing reptiles from your expert guide and experience the rainforest under the cover of darkness.

Day 2: Immersive Jungle & Cultural Experience

Morning:

Immersive Jungle Hike: Embark on a deeper exploration of the jungle with your expert guide. Learn about the unique medicinal plants used by indigenous tribes and essential survival skills, such as finding drinking water and building a shelter.

Afternoon:

Cultural Visit to an Indigenous Tribe: Visit a local indigenous community to engage in their traditional practices. Participate in dances, learn about their crafts, and gain insights into their daily lives and cultural heritage.

Night:

Overnight in the Jungle (Optional): For those seeking a true adventure, spend the night in the jungle, sleeping in a hammock under the starry sky. Your guide will teach you how to make a fire, and you will enjoy the serene yet vibrant sounds of the Amazon at night.

Day 3: Wildlife Encounters, Dolphin Swimming & Departure (Note: This day includes a lot of activity, but departure is on Day 5 – see adjusted Day 5 below)

Morning:

Dawn Wildlife & Birdwatching: Start your day early with a boat trip dedicated to observing Amazonian wildlife. Keep an eye out for monkeys, sloths, and various bird species, with your guide providing insights into their behaviors and habitats.

Late Morning:

Swimming with Pink River Dolphins: Experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with the iconic pink river dolphins of the Amazon. These gentle creatures are friendly and curious, offering a unique and memorable interaction in the calm waters of the Rio Negro.

Afternoon:

Piranha Fishing Expedition: Conclude your adventure with an exciting piranha fishing expedition. Learn the techniques and cultural significance of fishing in the Amazon, while your guide shares fascinating facts about these famous fish.

Day 4: Native Cassava Flour House (Farinha de Mandioca)

Morning:

Right after breakfast, we will head to a cassava flour production house, where we will show you and teach you how the cassava flour-making process works. There, you will learn all about this flour, which is a delicacy for riverine people and Brazilians as a whole.

Afternoon:

We will go to visit a riverside community, founded by Mrs. Marlene. She will tell the story of the community and many other stories. We will also visit the basic health unit, the school, the churches, and Dona Marlene’s handicraft workshop, and enjoy some ice-cold coconut water.

Evening: We will rest for the next day.

Day 5:

Morning:

We will visit a native’s home and talk with him about riverside life. We will also prepare lunch with him in his own home and experience a bit of his culture.

Afterwards, we will return to the lodge to pack our bags and head to the port, where our team will take you to Manaus, with great safety and quality.

Departure to Manaus: Return to the lodge for a shower and to pack your bags. You will then be transferred back to Manaus for your departing flight, taking with you unforgettable memories of your Amazon adventure.
